North Bristol Mountain Bike Club

It was dry-ish when I rode there so not really sure what it's like in the wet. The main line (Big Grin) is chalk/flint based so possibly could get a bit claggy, but seemed pretty hard packed to me so I can't see it being too bad. The steeper/more techy lines (Devil's Dyke/Tsubo) were muddier so guess they could be a bit trickier, but surely we've got the necessary skills .

I reckon it's a bit early to make a call on the weather, a lot could change between now and Saturday given how the summer's gone so far! Still 22 places left so how's about we make the call Thurs/Fri? If we wait for a perfect, dusty dry day, we could be waiting a long time and never got down there......I say man up cupcakes .

The weather has been georgeous down here in christchurch Im not sure about bristol.

Blandford can get quite claggy, so although im sure your gagging to get out its probably best to stay local and give it a late call on xc or dh and leave UKBP till next week if the forecast is not good.

Glyn have you got your shock back? Weather is not looking good for Friday and Saturday, Paul, Justin you have both ridden there whats your opinion on it?

I'm definitely keen for a trip up that way sometime soon-ish! Wanted to go there earlier in the year when we went to CyB, but wasn't quite open then. Looks like a good choice of flowy, jumpy trails and some stuff a bit more steep, rocky and techy. Pretty exposed to the weather though! By all accounts, the youtube video's make it look tamer than it is (as always).

Could make it a full on gnar weekend, and head to Revolution Bike Park (www.revolutionbikepark.co.uk) a few miles down the road the following day ? Me and my bruv went there in June - steep, rooty and VERY muddy but definitely worth a visit!

This is where we need to go as well, now its open!!! Have to be an over nighter though but looks the dogs!!
Open Thursday-Sunday at present £26.00 for all day up lift pre bookable approx 15 runs in a day!!
